At this year's EuroShop, the Filderstadt-based system manufacturer OCTANORM presented numerous new products in addition to a new stand concept and a modernized corporate design. This includes a new universally applicable and playable system that relies on a completely new connection technology.

OCTAuniversal
On the occasion of EuroShop 2017, OCTANORM launches a brand new product called OCTAuniversal – a supporting construction system for universal use which is based on a completely new connection method. "It was quite a revolution when Maxima was first presented in 1997", says Thomas Gräter, CEO at OCTANORM. The successor product of the classic octagonal system components quickly gained importance among OCTANORM users and became the gold standard of exhibition construction systems. "The success of a system always depends on the technique used for connection" explains Thomas Gräter. "The tension lock connection associated with Maxima and many other OCTANORM systems has made history with a half-turn of a screw that meant the world for a whole industry – an industry where almost everything is about efficiency." Andreas Dober, Head of Design, Development and Engineering at OCTANORM, describes the new system as follows: "Even though OCTAuniversal takes on many characteristics that are peculiar to Maxima, it also features a completely new and revolutionary connection method: a patented connection consisting in keyhole, bolt and tension lock – safe, secure and statically verified. And yet as quick and easy to establish as a mere tension lock connection." In an exhibition world of the future, where security guidelines are getting stricter and more complex while at the same time expenses are exploding, OCTANORM is already providing the secure and statically verified connection technique of tomorrow. But there is even more innovation coming with OCTAuniversal: freestanding walls of up to 6 meters in height that can be built right at the edges of your booth. Accompanied by a proof of stability issued by an officially recognized engineer – which does not only grant maximum safety but also saves considerably on costs, every single time. OCTAuniversal is the invisible framework of the future that can be equipped in various ways. It is ideal for combinations with OCTAlumina plus, unlit fabrics and all kinds of panels including LED panels. Moreover, OCTAuniversal components are 100 % compatible with Maxima 80, providing a great chance for OCTANORM Maxima users to get to know the new system step by step. OCTAuniversal can be used wherever a stable and modular framework or wall construction is crucial, namely in exhibition construction, events, shopfitting and interior design.

OCTAlumina plus
The new OCTAlumina plus proves to be a highlight in the truest sense of the word. The latest addition to the successful OCTAlumina family of illuminated frames is a leap into the third dimension. From now on, it is possible to realize entire self-supporting and illuminated room solutions. Thanks to its high stability, the new corner extrusion makes for room heights of 3.5 to 5 m. The cubes are illuminated by means of high-power LEDs fed through the edges and come with a high decorative value and impressive looks. With no visible extrusion edges, the construction almost completely hides behind the fabric covers. There is only a small gap between the extrusions meeting at the 90° corners which allows for graphics and images to run around the corners seamlessly. Smartly designed and equipped with innovative features like a magnetic lock and RFID access control, the illuminated flush-mounted doors are an absolute eye-catcher. Even the layout of the fabric grooves has been inspired by the third dimension. They are placed behind each other and make it possible to play with different fabric layers and materials, creating a stunning three-dimensional impression. Combined with interesting graphic designs, there are virtually no limits to your creativity and individual ideas. OCTAlumina plus 120 mm extrusions will be available as of April 2017.

OCTAlumina fabric counter and OCTAlumina ceiling lamps
There are two other new and sophisticated members of the OCTAlumina family:
Our new modular folding counter can be set up and folded flat in no time. Its well-balanced weight ensures both stability and easy transportation and makes the OCTAlumina Fabric Counter a perfect companion for POS and events. The basic equipment includes an illuminated front, fabric covered sides, two shelves and an optional transport bag. The new fabric counter will be available as of April 2017.
The round OCTAlumina Ceiling Lamps are characterized by their minimalistic design and a homogenous illumination by means of energy-efficient LED technology. Like all other OCTAlumina products, they come with preinstalled power supply unit and LEDs. Cables are invisibly leading to the ceiling through a metal rod. Can be supplied in silver anodized, white and black, with a diameter of 80 cm and an extrusion depth of 40 mm. Special sizes on request. Available as of April 2017.

OCTAelevate floor and OCTAeco floor
The new double floor systems OCTAelevate floor and OCTAeco floor are completing the OCTAfloor product range. The extremely sturdy floors are made from 100 % recycled plastic material and designed for decades of use. Water and weatherproof through polypropylene, both floors are ideal for outdoor application and storage. The differences between the two floors are described in a nutshell: Thanks to stackable feet, the height of OCTAelevate floor can range between 105 mm and 270 mm, making it possible to also lay thick cables and pipes underneath. Furthermore, single floor panels can be removed from above even after installation. With a maximum load capacity of 5,500 kg/m² and 21 cable outlets per square meter, OCTAelevate floor is an example of strength and flexibility. Comparatively faster to install and perfectly suitable for the heaviest of loads, OCTAeco floor comes with a fixed height of just 43 mm. With a maximum load capacity of up to 20,000 kg/m², this double floor system is predestined for exhibitions and events and all other applications where loads are heavy. The two new floor systems are both offering shortest assembly and dismantling times, especially when compared to conventionally laid floors. All products are available from stock. 

OCTAmesh miracle and lux
The trend is clearly moving towards illumination and can be interpreted in many different ways. The newly developed OCTAmesh products deliver most impressive and captivating solutions. Consisting in aluminium frames with integrated LED technology, their true secret lies in the special fabric that transforms single light points into unique three-dimensional light structures. Depending on the actual light source and the constructional layout, different and highly individual effects can be created. Another advantage is the optical enlargement resulting from the light arcs. OCTAmesh is available in two fabric variants: "Miracle" and "Lux". Different colours and special sizes on request. OCTAmesh can be supplied on short notice.

OCTAwall 40 Fabric and Panel
The OCTAwall system was fundamentally revamped. It is now optionally possible to attach fabrics and panels to both sides of the frames, making the extrusions much more flexible in use. A new corner upright was added together with a corresponding connector enabling the realization of corners where just 2 mm of the aluminium extrusion remain visible. This allows for a virtually seamless installation of graphics and images around the corners. OCTAwall 40 frames will be available as of May 2017 whereas the corner uprights can be supplied as of June 2017.

OCTArig
Apart from being suspended from the ceiling, OCTArig can now also be built onto uprights by means of the new connector. Additional stability is provided by the angle reinforcement. The elevated system opens up entirely new possibilities for stand construction. The pylon structure enables a self-supporting corner of up to 3000 mm in height, only secured by clamping elements and without the need for additional ceiling suspension. The addition to OCTArig will be available as of April 2017.

OCTAwall custom Rental
Thanks to the new leasing option, OCTAwall custom now also lends itself for single projects or irregular use. Depending on the customers’ current order situation or project size, stocks can be increased individually and even be bought through hire purchase. 

OCTAdesign with VR feature
For the first time in OCTAdesign history, the 2018 version is offering the possibility to experience exhibition booths in virtual reality. As a matter of fact, VR is not only an innovative presentation tool but also a handy and time-saving feature. Proportions and dimensions can be checked and amended as needed and faults can already be eliminated at an early planning stage. OCTAdesign 2018 also comes with considerably enhanced WebGL functions that support playback of embedded videos. The improved editor makes it possible to change light, colours and materials directly in the three-dimensional presentation. Of course, OCTAdesign 2018 comprises all new systems and components such as, for example, OCTAuniversal and OCTAlumina.
