At this year's EuroShop, the Filderstadt-based system manufacturer OCTANORM presented numerous new products in addition to a new stand concept. These included new wall systems and the integration of LED video walls.

OCTAwall pro
At EuroShop 2020, OCTANORM is introducing a new frame system called OCTAwall pro. A frame system that has been specially designed for the use of LED video walls. The extrusion depth of 80 mm ensures the required stability and the aluminum used makes for a low weight. “Thanks to the standardized frame dimensions, LED panels from a wide range of manufacturers can be used. Our customers do not have to commit to a service provider. We want to make our systems as flexible as possible,” says Hans Bruder, Managing Director at OCTANORM. The adapters of the LED panels are anchored in the system groove with a 90 ° turn. This ensures a secure hold and a seamless overall picture. “The wiring disappears invisibly in a specially designed cavity between the connected frames. The system frames themselves are effortlessly attached to each other with quick connectors, which in turn saves valuable time,” says Frank Wolber, Head of Design, Development and Technology. In addition to LED video walls, wooden panels or fabrics can be used for system cladding. Fabrics are stretched seamlessly over the individual frames and corner supports for uninterrupted graphics. But not only the variety of cladding types, also the compatibility with other OCTANORM systems such as Maxima, OCTAwall custom or OCTAlumina reveals numerous new design options. “Our system groove guarantees a problem-free connection to our complete product portfolio. Thanks to the double groove guide, even OCTAwall 40 frames can be seamlessly connected to OCTAwall pro,” explains Hans Bruder. With its extrusion depth of 80 mm, OCTAwall pro is particularly suitable for trade fair construction, shop fitting and, thanks to the LED video wall solution, especially for the event area.
 
 
OCTApanel
OCTApanel is a wall system, the focus of which is on a short installation time and a simple look. Fully cladded wall elements are hooked together by lifting and lowering. This saves the time required for cladding. “Our goal is that our customers' product attracts attention - not the system. That is why the straight-line look and the simple look of the wall system make it take a back seat,” explains Hans Bruder, Managing Director at OCTANORM. Additional features such as curved wall elements, doors and LED panels provide space for the stand design. T-connections can also be added anywhere.
 
 
Maxima
“Maxima is a classic among exhibition stand systems and is already in stock at many stand builders. That is precisely why we want to develop the system further, improve it and prepare it for the future," says Hans Bruder, Managing Director at OCTANORM. "We are opening up completely new areas of application." At this year's EuroShop, OCTANORM is showing large-area LED video walls. The substructure consists of Maxima in combination with the OCTAuniversal upright. Newly developed LED adapters are screwed onto the back of the LED panels and hung in the keyholes of the upright or in the system groove. This enables the use of LED panels from different manufacturers. "Many customers already have their own pool of LED panels, or a permanent media technology partner with whom they work. With Maxima, these resources and contacts can continue to be used," explains Frank Wolber, Head of Design, Development and Technology. "The purchase of individual OCTAuniversal uprights is adding numerous useful features and a functional support to Maxima." The system manufacturer also offers a solution for freestanding walls: Floor panels installed in the double floor secure the construction - even directly at the edge of the stand and up to a height of 6 meters.
 
 
OCTAlumina dynamic light
Illuminated frames have long been established among exhibitors. In order to stand out from the crowd, the Filderstadt system manufacturer has developed OCTAlumina dynamic light. Animated light animations bring the fabric motif to life. This is made possible by individually controllable LEDs on the back wall of the light frame. “The content is simply loaded onto a USB stick and can be adapted again and again to a fabric motif. The customer can selectively highlight areas and advertising messages - so a whole story is told with just one motif.” says Hans Bruder, Managing Director at OCTANORM. OCTAlumina dynamic light is available in five fixed sizes and in special formats on request. Already purchased OCTAlumina light frames in standard format can be retrofitted with Dynamic light.
 
 
OCTAlumina
Following the introduction of the OCTAlumina plus system for complete illuminated rooms in 2017, OCTANORM is now introducing a tool-free variant for the display and retail sector. Special plastic clips enable individual OCTAlumina light frames to be connected at 90 and 180 degree angles. The clips are pushed into the groove next to the fabric’s silicone edge. So that complete rooms are also possible in this variant, a door element with a depth of 120 mm was developed, which can be installed between two light frames without tools - fully illuminated and usable for DIN left / right. “Many of our customers already have OCTAlumina light frames in their inventory. Now you have the additional option of building entire rooms from these individual frames - even without tools!” explains Hans Bruder, Managing Director at OCTANORM.
 
 
OCTAlumina Circular Lamp
After suspended light cubes, circular lights from OCTANORM are now also available. “Due to the special groove guidance of the profile, only a filigree, 2 mm aluminum edge remains visible on the floor and ceiling. This minimalist design enables an all-round useable advertising space that is tensioned by bracings in the system groove,” explains Frank Wolber, Head of Design, Development and Technology. Homogeneous lighting thanks to highly efficient LED technology creates a pleasant atmosphere at any location. In addition, the lights are dustproof due to the fabric cladding and a sealed supply line, which in turn ensures a low maintenance factor. The circular lights are available in three different diameters (1000, 2000, 3000 mm) and a height of 500 mm. Also available in special format on request.
 
 
OCTAeco floor
The double floor system OCTAeco floor from the Filderstadt system manufacturer OCTANORM receives new features. Since the regulations on the exhibition grounds are becoming ever stricter, the weatherproof floor panels from now on meet all legal regulations and safety regulations according to the European standard EN 13501-1 and are therefore flame-retardant (Cfl-s1). In addition to the locations, laying is also more flexible: the stackable adapter makes the OCTAeco floor height adjustable. This enables the construction of platforms and the invisible laying of pipes below the floor panel. New ramp elements, which are seamlessly connected to the floor panels at the edge of the stand, open each stand to all visitor groups - a new barrier-free access without edges.
 
 
Wallwasher
The wallwasher guarantees full and even illumination up to a height of 2.5 meters. 16 durable high-performance LEDs with a neutral light color of 5700 Kelvin are installed in the housing. The mounting arm is simply swiveled into the system groove for assembly. For easy and space-saving storage and transportation, the wallwasher can be disassembled into two parts and packed securely.
 
 
OCTAwall 40 Sliding Door
With the OCTAwall 40 frame system, conference rooms can be built in addition to exhibition stands. Equipped with acoustic material on the inside, individual islands are created in the hustle and bustle of the fair. For additional privacy, OCTANORM has developed a sliding door for the wall system. This can be mounted to two existing OCTAwall-40 frames without tools. The front door element, guided in a rail, is pushed aside and can be completely covered with fabric and / or panel for a seamless look.
 
 
Universal door
A door for the different extrusion depths of 40, 80 and 120 mm. The door element with a depth of 40 mm is mounted flush on one side using adjustable adapters. The door can be used universally because it can be adjusted for DIN left and right, is compatible with various systems such as Maxima and OCTAwall and can be clad with fabric and panel. "This saves not only storage but also procurement costs, since only one door is required for a wide variety of requirements," explains Hans Bruder, Managing Director at OCTANORM.
 
 
3D-Printing
Every booth design has its own needs. To add even more freedom, OCTANORM combines the system construction with 3D printed parts. “We want to make our systems even more individual for our customers. The interplay between our extrusions and specially developed components makes this project so interesting," says Hans Bruder, Managing Director at OCTANORM. "3D printing makes it possible to realize individual projects starting with a single part". In combination with new illuminated display shapes with round connectors and acute angles, complete wall solutions are also possible.
