Illuminated room concepts with OCTAlumina plus

05/03/2017

Just in time for EuroShop 2017, system component manufacturers OCTANORM have complemented their successful range of illuminated frames by two new extrusions.

OCTAlumina plus is making our illuminated frames three-dimensional. By means of 120 mm deep frame and corner extrusions, it is now possible to realize not only self-supporting illuminated cubes but also entire rooms with impressive heights of up to 5 meters, depending on design, construction and applied graphics.

"The impression of a homogenous illumination very much depends on the chosen image. Pictures with a lot happening in them are way more forgiving than plain surfaces," explains Andreas Dober, Head of Design, Development and Engineering at OCTANORM and adds: "The outside corners are characterized by defined and minimalistic edges. This allows for a virtually seamless installation of graphics and images around the corners and creates an eye-catching effect." Since every room needs a least one entry point, OCTANORM of course also provides an illuminated door solution. "Besides the possibility of picking up of the graphic motif, other innovative features have been included," says Claudio Mazza, product manager in charge at OCTANORM.

"Equipped with a magnetic lock and RFID access control, the door offers secured admittance using contactless smart cards. A fast and easy application that clearly simplifies everyday exhibition life." The use of fabrics has also been inspired by the third dimension and adds to the new spatial construction possibilities offered by the system. Two fabric grooves are placed behind each other and create a stunning three-dimensional impression that changes with the viewing angle.

"The effect resulting from the additional fabric layer can be used in various creative ways, for example by playing with different transparent materials and typographic designs," says Claudio Mazza. More emotion, less visible system: OCTAlumina plus does justice to this trend by means of an outer fabric groove at a 30° angle that gets completely covered by fabric.

The new system will be available as of April 2017.
