OCTACAD is a powerful plugin for Autodesk AutoCAD^® Architecture and is designed
specifically for construction in the exhibition business. Programmed expressly
for exhibition architects and constructors, it contains a multitude of time-saving functions. For example the intelligent construction function for walls, floors, and cladding, the simple customer and exhibition management, and the automated generation of parts lists directly from the drawings.

Through a secure remote connection between us and the customer CAD computer, you can ask for online help at any time. We also offer topical trainings online. Another advatange: the complete, remote installation of OCTACAD.

Tailor-made trainings.

To ensure an efficient and effective start we recommend and offer start up training courses as well as tailored training courses based on your experience in this type of software. OCTAcad 2023 features a number of detail improvements and is now available for users of Autodesk^® AutoCAD^® Architecture 2021. In addition to some minor updates, you can look forward to these highlights:

View changes between older and newer drawings

OCTAcad offers you the possibility to visually display drawing changes between older and newer files. To do so, simply select the desired change with a mouse click to show or hide it. With the help of this function you can see the differences between the individual drawings and take a closer look at them. This works with different file formats such as .dwg or .xref.

Purge drawing

This function allows you to explicitly select, view, check and then purge several items from a drawing.

Integrated "Quick" measuring function

The additional function "Quick" was integrated into the existing command "Measure". This allows you to check the dimensions of various items fast and easily and change them immediately if necessary. Please note that the displayed dimensions are for checking purposes only and will not be added to the drawing!

Work faster with multicore processors

Thanks to the use of multicore processors, you can perform smooth rotation, panning and zooming operations. This allows you to increase your working speed.

Modern data base system

All projects are saved securely on a central server. This way, you can share them with single colleagues or whole teams using the user administration.The data bank is highly adjustable to your requirements. Intuitive drag-and-drop and useful search and filter functions help you to administrate and quickly find any required information.

Powerful plugin for exhibition builders

OCTACAD is a powerful plugin for AutoCAD Architecture. You can use all AutoCAD construction functions. Combined with the object-oriented plugins for OCTANORM components, you can create complex constructions in no time – of course this also works with your own system.

Smart construction functions

OCTACAD is not just a component database. Smart construction functions automatically recognize the selected part. Installation and connection are set accordingly, speeding up your work and minimizing the error rate significantly.

The wall function

The wall function offers an intuitive user interface, allowing for the construction of complex system walls in no time. They remain editable with all standard functions as AutoCAD compatible objects. The principle: from general to detail. Create your walls first, then use the edit function to add or change details (doors, materials, height, ...).

Direction of tension locks

OCTANORM extrusions allow for lcok connections in different directions. When constructing with OCTACAD, the lock direction is based on the system groove of the connection point, which can still be individually adjusted afterwards. The direction is automatically stated right in your parts list, decreasing the amount of manual reworking necessary.

Clever assembly support

OCTACAD marks profiles with the same length for a coloured assembly plan. The colour assignemt to the individual lengths can be chosen freely. This graphic representation with an integrated legend allows for a better overview and significantly helps assigning the single parts. Also rather nifty: when selecting a part in the parts list, it is automatically selected in the drawing as well and vice versa.

The cladding function

With the cladding function, users can assign variable cladding to system walls, or create conventional walls with user-selected corner options. The corner options (miter, joint left or right) can easily be changed in retrospect if needed. Other changes to the cladding elements are equally possible. The automatically generated parts list is always ready for manufacturing.

Photo-realistic presentation

The in AutoCAD Architecture integrated Mental Ray is used for photo-realistic presentations. For further wishes, the models can also be exported to OCTADESIGN, since OCTACAD already assigned the right object colours and surfaces to the constructed elements as assigned in the stock list.

Extensive list function

The generated drawings and projects can be evaluated with the versatile list function, according to the requirements for both the commercial as well as technical areas. Simply generate parts lists with pictures, parts lists with weight declaration, profile lists, and loading lists amongst others. On top of that parts identifications for assembly instructions, or extended documentaries with front page and exhibition overview. Since the lists are generated with Crystal Reports, every user can also create their own list and evaluation generators.

Support and remote services

Thanks to modern support software, we can offer high quality customer support. Through secure remote connections to our customers' CAD computers, we can offer help at any time. It is even possible to receive topical training through this channel. As a little highlight, our support can even completely install OCTACAD remotely to your computer, with all spezific configurations necessary.
